Sleeping Ute

Miles from Boise to Hovenweep: 729
Cost of two nights in the campground: $20
Number of suppurating cedar gnat bites: 10,000 (estimate)
Being the first to look out of your tent each morning to make sure that the Great Warrior God is still sleeping and hasn't risen to help fight the Ute's enemies: priceless

  1. Cindy, glad to see that you are tromping around the Colorado Plateau country. So are we the Utes' friends or enemies, nowadays? Or, are we (some of us at least), in some figurative sense, the new Utes?

  2. Matt,

I don't know the answer, but I try to behave myself while I'm in the Four Corners area.
